The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended four top officials, including its National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), following a recent court order that stopped the party’s planned national convention.
According to The Punch, the other suspended members are Deputy Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha, and National Organizing Secretary, Umaru Bature,
Announcing the decision on Saturday after an emergency meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s Legacy House headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said the suspension will last one month pending disciplinary action.
According to Ologunagba, “The NWC, in line with the party’s constitution, came to the following conclusion: the National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN); Deputy Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha; National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; and National Organizing Secretary have been suspended for one month and referred to the PDP Disciplinary Committee.”
The move comes amid fresh legal and leadership crises within the opposition party, as the court ruling throws its convention plans into uncertainty.
