I AM A DANCER

I am a younger dancer. I love to dance very much that I intend to pursue dancing as a career in life. Does the future hold any prospects for me to eke out a living dancing? Please help GetMotivatedNaija.

Thank you for taking out time to write us Nancy. Yes dancing is a career you can pursue. A lot of women in America and across the globe are professional choreographers that make their living dancing. However, I know that in some parts of the world like Nigeria, people don’t take dancers serious. But still, few people in Nigeria today are dancers especially since the advent of African hip hop which Nigerian artistes headline. Today many Nigerian and other African women are into dancing as full time job. Though you have to understand as a dancer you might not be having work back to back every month or every week if you are freelancing and not attached to any record label or musician who probably pays you every month.
