NATIONAL ASSEMBLY TODAY


In Today’s plenary:
·        Victor Umeh, the APGA candidate who won the Anambra Central Senatorial seat was sworn in today by the Senate. His governor, Chief Willie Obiano was there present to witness the swearing in at the upper chambers.

·        Two Bills from House of Reps for Concurrence: i. National Road Funds Bill ii) Stamp Duties Act were both referred back to committees for further legislative action

·        The Revised Edition (Laws of the Federation of Nigeria) Bill was passed today after it scaled through 3rd Reading

·        Report of the Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development on Nigeria’s Participation at the 61st Session of the Commission on Women Affairs and Social Development on Nigeria’s Participation at the 61st Session of the Commission on the Status of Women held at the United Nations Headquarters, New York, 13th-24th March 2017 was laid


·        Also Report on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND: Modalities of Establishing Federal Polytechnics, Federal Colleges of Education and Universities and across Nigeria was also laid before the Senate.
