ITS A BIG SHAME FOR US TO BE IMPORTING PALM OIL- SEN. ANDREW UCHENDU

Senator Andrew Uchendu representing Rivers East contributed immensely to the Senate motion on :

URGENT NEED TO HALT THE IMPORTATION OF PALM OIL AND ITS ALLIED PRODUCTS TO PROTECT THE PALM OIL/KERNEL INDUSTRY IN NIGERIA

In his contribution, he said its a shame and embarrassing that our country Nigeria is importing palm oil in 2018. He said the South East and South South have always been the best area for palm oil plantation but they require government support to maximise their potentials and attract investments.

He went on to say that gulvanising that sector which is moribund  will make it a major foreign exchange earner for our country Nigeria.

He called on the Senate to take decisive action to stop further importation of palm oil and to revive that moribund sector.
