Senator Shehu Sanni through point of order brought the attention of the Senate to the recent violence in Kaduna State.
He said 6 to 7 people were killed, while many houses were burnt with mayhem everywhere.
According to him, the violence was attributed to youths restiveness who took the laws into their hands, but it has the footprints of religious crisis.
He called on the Senate to sympathise with the people of Kaduna while also commending the security agents for their quick response to bring the mayhem under control.
On his part, the Deputy Senate President Ekweremmadu who was presiding sent the condolences of the Senate to the people of Kaduna. He called on Nigerians to avoid any form of religious violence as that will be the "fastest way to liquidate this country" he said.
Plenary was eventually adjourned with all items for the day adjourned till tomorrow to allow APC Senators to attend their NEC meeting today.
