The National Assembly issued Vote of No Confidence on Minister of Mines and Steel for refusing to attend a public inquest on the Ajaokuta Steel company.
Enraged law makers voiced their anger over the refusal of the Minister to appear before them, a situation they called a total disregard for the law makers.
In his contribution, Honourable Abonta called it executive rascality. He said the house is condoning a and laying a fertile ground for this contempt from the executive.
He went on to say, what are they resolving when there is nothing to resolve?. Rather he called on the house to act as a deterrent to others from following same suit. He called most our ministers incompetent hence they need to tame their rascality.
He called for a vote of no confidence on the minister and also a warrant of arrest if he doesnt appear before the house at a new slated date.
Concluding, the Speaker said there is no need ordering his arrest for him to appear before them since a vote of No Confidence has already been issued against him.
