Senator Theodore Orji, described as pathetic the rate of child abuse and molestation as reported daily in our country. He was contributing to the motion that sought urgent need to stop the increasing child labour, abuse and molestation in our country.
Speaking he said, children are gifts from God which people are not supposed to play with. He said we all know the pains families go through to have a child. When we eventually get them, wicked people dont want to see the children alive.
Continuing he said, if we annihilate children in this country, who will live in this country with us?
He also accused some people of also using children for rituals. He went on to question why we should bring our children on earth just to punish them.
Finally he called on authorities to severely punish any person found guilty of this heinous offence against our children, to serve as deterrent to others.
