SECURITY MEN ARE SUPPOSED TO DEFEND THE PEOPLE- SENATOR VICTOR UMEH

Senator Victor Umeh, in his contributions to the motion moved by Senate Adoke from Nasarawa State over the killings going on in his State.

Contributing, Senator Victor Umeh said we should tell ourselves the truth. He aid the Senate has not been able to disclose and implement the findings and recommendations of the security summit, while the orgy of killings continues unabated.

He accused the security agents of discriminatory attitude towards our security. He buttressed his point with reference to the mayhem the El Zazzaky supporters who invaded Abuja, destroying cars and properties unchecked.

He said if it had been IPOB, or MASSAB, no one will even allow them to enter Abuja let alone protesting to destroy cars and properties.

Continuing, he said that the Withdrawal of Arms declared by Nigerian Police was carried out by the Police in South East, while the epicenter of crisis and insurgency in the North, there was no arms mop up carried out in those countries.

He said the people who are  unleashing this mayhem on the people are untouchables, that's why the crisis has lingered unabated.

He said the security agents are supposed to defend the people, and not the people to defend themselves.

He rounded up by saying until these herdsmen are disarmed, the killings will continue accross Nigeria.
