The continued and sustained
efforts of our indefatigable Senator Stella Oduah to officially confirm Anambra
State as an Oil producing State to bring the mere pronouncement of former President
Good Ebele Jonathan into reality through her motion has finally crystallized into
a reality.
According to National
Chairman to Host Communities Producing Oil and Gas, Prince Mike Emuh, Federal
Govt has finally recognized Anambra State as an Oil Producing State.
Recall
that our indefatigable Senator Stella Oduah, proposed a motion on:
Need to give recognition to Anambra, Enugu and Kogi as oil
producing states and to forestall further hostilities between the warring
communities of Odeke Echeno in Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State and
Enugu- Out Aguleri and Eziagulu - Otu Communities in Anambra East Local
Government Area of Anambra State
She did not just stop with the motion, she continued to push
from the executive angle through constant dialogue and negotiation to ensure
that the state is officially accorded this recognition for the interest of the
economy of the State and host communities around the epicenter of the oil
discovery.
This official recognition will bring in a lot of benefits to
the state:
i.
The State will be included
in the list of NDDC Programs Beneficiary States. This is huge and immense because
Billions of Naira are allocated to NDDC yearly for the development of host
communities.
ii.
This will end the
hostilities and youths restiveness that has remained a reoccurring decimal in
these communities.
iii.
The IGR of the state
will certainly burgeon as more and more investors will continue fresh searches
for oil in Anambra State and the more they discover, the more revenue for the
State and FG.
iv.
This will help to promote
peace among the communities that occupy the epicenter of this discovery.
v.
This will also grow the
economy of the state as more jobs will be created for the youths through more
investment into that sector.
This
can only be our indefatigable Senator Stella Oduah.
