2023 PRESIDENCY: PETER OBI/BUKOLA SARAKI KUMBO IS PERFECT

 

The months ahead will begin to increase clandestine political meetings and plot to find the right candidates for the two main political parties in Nigeria. More than 60 percent of the country and political gladiators from different regions have all agreed that it is the turn of Ndigbo to produce the next president for Nigeria come 2023.

Any other permutation away from that unwritten consensus is not a good omen and will not augur well for our great country. Rather it will increase tension again and set the next election as another precipice for Nigeria since all regions have served their turns in new Nigeria except Igbos. We must all give peace a chance by supporting equity and justice which translates to allowing the Igbos produce the next president of Nigeria. This will help to begin the healing that will see our country move away from the road of disintegration to the road of unity and peace for the interest of this great nation blessed by God.

It will also give Nigerians the opportunity to taste the true leadership qualities of Igbos which they have all showcased in different agencies and ministries of Govt they have once headed. Am referring to the reforms which the following Igbo sons and daughters brought to Nigeria. Dr Dora Akunyili of blessed memory brought to NAFDAC, Prof Barth Nnaji brought to Power Ministry, Chukwuma Soludo brought to CBN, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala brought to Finance, Senator Stella Oduah brought to Ministry of Aviation and of course Peter Obi brought to Anambra State et al.

Well, without digressing from the subject of the matter as this will be topic for another day, i believe Peter Obi Presidency and Bukola Saraki as Vice president will be a perfect combo come 2023.

The reasons are obvious. These are young men who do not strike Nigerians as belonging to the old  block of politicians that lack ideas to move the country forward. Peter Obi is an astute public administrator whose records have never been equalled by any governor in the history of Nigeria especially since this political dispensation. 

And for Bukola Saraki, his records in Senate speak volume as he worked with different ethnic groups effortlessly and was exceptional in ensuring the the separation of powers between Executive and Legistlature was not abused by power drunk presidency. Saraki will also bring different ethnic groups on board as he is half Yoruba and half Fulani from the North Central. He is also a muslim.

Interestingly i have also worked with these two men indirectly. At senate where i was the SA-Media and Publicity of Senator Oduah when Saraki was the Senate President. While i also worked with Peter Obi team in Anambra during the campaign to elect him and Atiku in 2019 election. It was my first one on one interface with him and his team whihc consists one of my mentors Oseloka Obaze and i saw how exceptional this man and his team were. He exhumes transparency, intelligence and integrity.

I believe that the wealth of intelligence these two exceptional politicians have will help reform our dear nation and set us on the pedestal to join the comity of top ten great economies of the world.
