The Nigerian Senate started deliberations on 2018 budget today at the upper chambers. Opening the floor of the debate was Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe. In his contributions, he said and i quote:
"What are we deliberating about a document that is fictitious?"
He wondered how we will predicate the 2018 Budget on 2017 budget that has less than 15% implementation.
He said,
i. The budget is total imaginary
ii. Nothing was done in 2017
iii. In what sense will 2018 budget be predicated on 2017 budget
iv. Facts based on 2017 budget shows that 2018 budget is predicated on already distorted facts
v. Assumptions are totally wrong
vi. 2018 budget is already dead on arrival
