BILLS AND MOTIONS PASSED BY SENATE TODAY


In todays’s plenary, the Senate passed the following Bills for 2nd Reading:
1.      1. A Bill for an Act to establish the National Tea and Coffee Development Council and for other connected matters , 2017
2.      2. A Bill for an Act to provide for legal, fiscal and regulatory framework for sustainable energy development in Nigeria with the overall objective of providing clean, affordable, adequate and reliable energy and for other related matters, 2017
3.      3. A Bill for an Act to amend the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Act CAP F6 LFN 2004 and for other matters connected therewith, 2017
The senate also considered reports of the Senate Committees on 2017 Budget of Corporations and Agencies of Govt of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The agencies presented today are:

1.      1. SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY- i) Raw Materials Research and Development council
2.      2. SPORTS AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT- i) National Lottery Regulatory Commission

3.     3.  INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT)- i) Galaxy Backbone Ltd (ii) National Information Technology Development Agency
