MONUMENTAL FRAUD AT NNPC, SENATE INVESTIGATES


The Nigerian Senate has discovered what they called a monumental fraud at NNPC. This was presented to the floor through a motion by Senator Dino Melaye who read and presented the motion to the floor through a motion tagged:

MONUMENTAL CORRUPTION AT THE NNPC.

The fraud was perpetrate through a company called Brass LNG which was incorporated on 9th December 2004 according to the senate.

However, the Senate findings shows alot of questions begging for answers as regard the company:
i. The Status of investment and principal objectives of the company
ii. The Signatories to the Account
iii. The returns on the investment
Was due process followed in the formation and appropriation of shares in the company?

Senate according resolved to mandate the committee on Public Accounts to carry out a holistic investigation into the activities of the company and complicity therein.
