DSP EKWEREMMADU BILL ON INSTITUTE OF MEDIATORS AND CONCILIATORS PASSES 2ND READING

In today's plenary, a Bill sponsored by DSP Ike Ekweremmadu:

ACT TO ESTABLISH THE INSTITUTE OF MEDIATORS AND CONCILIATORS

The Bill passed second Reading today on the floor of the senate.
the Bill will be a regulatory body for all practictioners

In his lead debate, Senator Ekweremmadu said the bill was ;proposed to for training of personnel, promoting and regulating capacity of personnel.

He said the Bill will promote the integration of continuous dialogue and peace building.
He went on to say that mediators requires more skills, hence the need to train more practictioners.

He concluded by saying there is no cost implication on the govt as the institute will be self funded.
