Oduah sponsored a Bill on:
An Act to establish the National Integrated Community Development
Agency to promote Sustainable Change in Social and Economic Relations and
Supporting the Goals of Growth and Development in Rural Economy.
The Bill is designed to
establish the National Integrated Community Development Agency as a national
unit to help implement and coordinate the activities/efforts of various other
Ministries/Departments/Agencies engaged in the mobilization of the development
of the Community areas in Nigeria.
It empowers the agency
with diverse functions aimed at the improvement and development of the quality
of life in the community areas. The functions include the provision of roads,
basic infrastructures and increased food and industrial raw material output,
the stimulation of agricultural and non-farm activities, human resource
development and any other activities that will facilitate an improved quality
of life in the Community areas of the country.
The bill will see to:
i.
Equitable development of our rural areas
without discrimination
ii.
It will speed up the development of rural
economies
iii.
It will reduce urbanisation fulled by
lack of development of those rural areas to create employment for the youths in
those rural areas
iv.
It will help promote industrialisation
of those rural communities to boost the economies of those rural towns
v.
It will enhance development of human
capital in those rural communities through construction of schools and
educational learning centres
vi.
It will reduce restiveness among the
youths of those rural economies
vii.
It will stimulate the growth of
agriculture which is the main stay of those rural economies
viii.
It will promote peaceful integration of
all communities in Nigeria regardless of te region or State.
