SENATOR UMEH SPEAKS ON INSECURITY AND MOTION ON BENUE KILLINGS

Senator Victor Umeh contributed to the  Motion on Benue Killings as presented by Senator George Akume.

Contributing, he said the latest killings now where two catholic priests were murdered in cold blood together with worshipers who went to morning mass is a new dimension to these killings.

He said religion is a violatile issue hence if this killings take this direction now, it will be very dangerous for our country. This he said , will further polarise and divide us the more to religious lines and clevages.

He said if Dino could be hunted down in short notice by many police men, while these killings continue unchecked by the same police, it all makes a mockery of our security system.

He said if the Senate does not do anything to check the situation to make our worship places safe, there will be an impending implosion in the country.

He said Nigeria does not lack manpower, rather its the will required to end this carnage that we lack as a nation.

He called the president to go beyond condemnation by directing the army to go to Benue and apprehend these killers, as this is the only way to assure everyone that it is not a sentimental war.
