The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has intervened in the ongoing leadership crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by inviting the rival factions to a reconciliation meeting at its headquarters in Abuja.
The closed-door engagement, which is currently taking place, involves representatives of the faction led by Tanimu Turaki and the group backed by former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, under the leadership of Abdulrahman Mohammed.
Those present with Turaki include members of his National Working Committee (NWC), officials of the party secretariat, as well as former Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu.
Mohammed arrived with members of his national caretaker committee, including its secretary, Senator Sam Anyanwu.
