DEPUTY SENATE PRESIDENT BILL ON FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC MPU PASSES 2ND READING



Distinguished and amiable Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremmadu presented the lead debate on his bill on Federal Polytechnic Mpu, Enugu State Nigeria.
In his lead debate, he stated that education is one of the major drivers of the economy. Every vibrant economy requires research and development and this is what makes Federal polytechnic Mpu relevant he said.
He went down memory lane that Enugu State was the former Easthern Region Head quarters, but unfortunately up till today  the state cannot boast of any Federal Polytechnic.

He conclude by saying that the school will offer full time and part courses in technology for all Nigerian youths.

Supporting the Bill, Senator Ben Bruce stated that Enugu state needs the school hence he supports the Bill wholeheartedly.

The bill was passed for second reading but referred to Committee on Tertiary Institutions.
