Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio contributing to the debate on the Report by the Committee on Downstream Petroleum "INVESTIGATION OF THE LINGERING PREMIUM MOTOR SPIRIT (FUEL) CRISIS ACROSS THE COUNTRY" called on the Senate to end the impunity going on in all the MDAs.
Speaking in tandem with the contributions of almost all the Senators, he said the report does not represent the integrity of this Senate.
He said nothing has changed from the report of PriceWaterHouse Coopers on NNPC many years after the report was developed by former Finance Minister.
He said the Minister will say there is no subsidy meanwhile the NNPC is competing with marketers to import fuel which they probably import with CBN waivers and at lower rate while marketers import at different rates.
He said its high time the Senate looked at NNPC for accountability and transparency if we must resolve the lingering perennial fuel crisis rocking our nation. All their expenditure must be authorised by The National Assembly for accountability.
