SENATOR STELLA ODUAH SUPPORTS MOTION ON INFANT MORTALITY RATE

Also in today’s plenary, our distinguished Senator Oduah also supported a motion on Alarming rate and Infant Mortality Rate in Nigeria. Speaking in support of the motion, she said its alarming and shocking that in this country we loose 2,300 under-five year olds and 145 women of childbearing age daily. She further she said, its unfortunate that we rank 2nd largest contributor to the under-five and maternal mortality rate in the whole world. She said its regrettable that we continue to watch daily as our children and women die daily to treatable and preventable health challenge with our health agencies looking helpless year in year out. She called on the Senator to support the motion which mandates the Committee on Women Affairs and Health to liaise with the federal Ministries of Women Affairs and Health on ways to curb Maternal, Newborn and infant mortality in Nigeria and report back to the senate #IStandWithStellaOduah
