Our country is becoming
a valley of death, these were the exact words of Senator Dino Melaye while
making his contributions to the motion on Killings in Nasarawa South as
presented by Senator Suleiman Adoke.
The motion on
insecurity which ignited the interest of many Senators who were giving enough
time to contribute to the conversation by DSP Ekweremmadu who presided.
Speaking further,
Senator Dino Melaye said it is becoming customary, ritualistic and a pattern
for the senate to weekly or even daily hear and deliberate on issues about
blood shed and wanton destruction of lives and properties of Nigerians, hence
no strong decision to ameliorate and
curtail this problem.
He said these killings
are just too many and the Senate cannot continue to watch as Nigeria degenerate
to this level of insecurity.
Hence he called the
senate to go beyond the rhetorics and take drastic action to solve this problem
permanently.
